Lo Struscio

In Italian, lo struscio literally means taking a walk. It also refers to the Italian way of enjoying life and practicing 'slow living' in everything they do. We have found that besides the driving, that is super fast, Italians really do seem to live at a lower stress and speed here. It can be really nice. If Italians go out to dinner, they get a table for the night and take their time eating, drinking, and socializing the night away.

We're currently trying hard to embrace the beauty of lo struscio. Since we arrived here in August, we've had two goals - get a house and buy a car. We've spent a lot of time trying to do both, and yet we still haven't accomplished either one!

We were supposed to move into our house last week, but it has been delayed by the Italian landlord. So, our new tentative move in date is mid-October. We're so hoping that will actually happen! For now, we are still in the Navy Lodge and we all seem to be surviving despite everyone being on top of each other.

We've been trying to buy a car from the Italian dealership across the street for a month and still have no car. The little Peugeot we want is on the lot, and the kids wave to it every time we walk by. We have been in a few times and there seems to be a hold up with the paperwork.

Oh well, lo struscio!!
